Are You Eternity-Minded?
Are You Eternity-Minded?
The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.
1 John 2:17 NIV
We’ve all heard different stories of people who have been given a dim prognosis with a short window of time left on this Earth and how they choose to live their final days. It’s hard to comprehend those circumstances. “Life is short” is no longer a coined phrase but a reality for your future.
Isn’t it wild how timelines have a way of making our choices for us? If someone surveyed your time, energy, resources, and decisions, where would they say your focus is? Is it in this life or the next?
Because you were made for heaven, building a fancy palace, resume, or “list of people who like me” will never fulfill your longing heart. Eternity-minded people have a way of letting the small stuff go. They’re fully aware that time is of the essence. Knowing victory and hope are forever assured, you fight differently. As heaven comes into view, it helps you prioritize with confidence. “Well done my good and faithful servant”! Is there a sweeter phrase to hear from Jesus than that?
Being eternity-minded allows you to be effective, generous, and hopeful in the present. Are you investing in the Kingdom that fades or the One that remains forever? You make the call!
