Honest

Honest

The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.

Proverbs 12:22 NIV

The phrase “honesty is the best policy” can sound cheesy. But reality is our friend. Has it ever paid off in your life to be dishonest? Even when the truth hurts or consequences have to be paid, honesty will always beat spending energy covering up the truth. A life of integrity honors God and protects your peace. It allows you to be the same person in private as you are in public, not wondering if you need to cover your tracks. God deals with the real you because, at the end of the day, it’s just you and Him anyway.

Don’t let the enemy rob your joy or steal your rest. Humble yourself, be honest, and watch God handle it with His grace. Living in the light is the only way to have the energy, strength, and perseverance to run your race well. Because, at the end of the day, God loves and refines the real you, not the perception of you. Honesty is refreshing for you, for others, and certainly for your Heavenly Father who knows everything about you anyway. A life of integrity is the only kind of life worth living. Is there anything His grace can’t cover?
