PAXTON MINISTRIES

Paxton Ministries is a nonprofit organization operating in the Harrisburg are providing affordable housing to adults in need. They are dedicated to shining Christ-like love into the shadows of the lived of those dealing with poverty, mental illness, and intellectual disabilities.

Working together with staff, volunteers and community supporters the ministry strives to provide the following:

- Safe and fully equipped housing options : comfortable spaces of peace, beauty and security that residents are proud to call "home".

- Practical assistance in many different forms: three meals a day, medication supports, healthcare coordination, and so much more.

- Cre that affirms God-given dignity, encourages holistic wellness, supports recovery and independence, and celebrates each person's skills and interests.

Above all, they display the love and compassion of Jesus Christ, in whose name it is their privilege to serve. As they celebrate 40 years of faithful service, the words of Isaiah 58 inspired by their founders continue to inspire them today:

"If you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday."
