How Vulnerable Are You?

How Vulnerable Are You?

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.

2 Corinthians 4:7 NIV

It’s a rare person who feels comfortable being vulnerable. Vulnerability feels like fragility. And when we’re feeling fragile, we feel weak. And who wants to feel weak?

However, if you search God’s Word, you’ll soon discover that it was actually the vulnerability of many of the strongest leaders what positioned them to be right where God wanted them to be. Joseph talked about his struggles. David was honest about his wavering emotions. Peter confronted his fear. Job expressed his anxiety and grief.

If you want to live a life that actually experiences rich connections with others, if you want the accountability, you desperately need and crave, then you’ll have to actually let others into your life. When your reputation is on the line, vulnerability might be a scary thing for you. Buy know this: God has already sealed your identity and called out your weakness.

Let me encourage you to welcome Him in through a really close relationship with His Son Jesus. When Jesus comes in, He’ll help you erase your pride and He’ll show you that it’s safe to be vulnerable with Him. Why? Because Jesus loves you unconditionally. His strength is made perfect and complete in your weakness.

So, go ahead. Connect with Jesus, because He’ll help you kick your fear to the curb and destroy your fear about what others might think of you. Will you let Jesus or others determine your life? I don’t know about you, but I’ll choose Jesus.
