Loyal

Loyal

One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Proverbs 18:24, NIV

From now until Resurrection Day, I want to encourage you in a very practical way to reflect, recalibrate, and refocus your mind on Jesus. If we don’t proactively put Him at the center, life will quickly fill the spot. Jesus’ times of testing in the wilderness led Him to greater perseverance, trust, and peace in His Father. It’s my hope for you that, as you put Jesus at the center, you, too, will witness His faithfulness in a whole new way. Let’s get started . . .

Do you have a friend that you know you could call no matter what time of day or what has happened? Maybe you’ve made a silent agreement between the two of you, that regardless of whether you support their choices, you support one another first and foremost. That kind of relationship can bring so much comfort and strength. The incredible truth about that kind of loyalty is that it barely scrapes the surface of the loyalty God has for His people. It’s only out of His allegiance to us that we’re able to show up for others without condition. The relationships we invest in, the causes we support, the ways we spend our time, the resources we share all show how deeply we matter to each other.

When you remain loyal to God above all, He gives you the ability to do the same for others. Your legacy is a result of your loyalty. When answering one, you inherently answer the other. Let’s let God and His Word determine the direction of both. Remember: Who you’re loyal to proves who you love. Does your life reflect that?
