Midweek Encouragement - "Promise Keeper”
“Promise Keeper”
God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?
Numbers 23:19 NIV
Have you ever been lied to? A blatant falsehood, an unfulfilled promise, or a change of mind that leads to backtracking? When someone isn’t truthful with you, the whole foundation of your world shifts. What you thought was true isn’t. The person you thought you could believe can’t be believed. And each step of trust in the future is a little harder to come by.
If you’ve been betrayed and lied to, let God’s Word bring order to your upside-down world. People may deceive and mislead, breaking promises and failing to be forthright. But “God is a human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind.” When someone speaks and fails to act, God can be trusted to keep His word. When people let you down, He follows through on every promise. Trust Him and believe today.
Lord, thank You for being a truthful, steadfast, and trustworthy Promise Keeper. Amen.
